An $11 million funding round has been secured by a group of Coinbase alumni to launch True Markets, a stablecoin-native decentralized finance (DeFi) application designed to provide real-time execution and self-custody capabilities on the Solana blockchain.
True Markets, a newly launched mobile-oriented non-custodial venture founded by former Coinbase executives Vishal Gupta and Patrick McCreary, has secured $11 million in funding to develop its stablecoin-native, mobile-first DeFi application for iPhones. With this latest round, total capital raised has reached $20 million, and the platform is being built on Solana to enable faster and more secure cryptocurrency trading.
According to a press release shared with Crypto, the funding round was co-led by Accomplice and RRE Ventures, with further support provided by Reciprocal Ventures, Variant Fund, and PayPal Ventures.
True Markets was founded by former Coinbase executives Vishal Gupta, who previously held the position of head of exchange, and Patrick McCreary, a former senior engineering leader. The platform has been designed to facilitate on-chain token trading through stablecoin settlement within a non-custodial framework. At launch, support is provided for leading Solana-native assets, with future plans aimed at expanding into centralized finance markets.
Retail traders have been stuck with clunky workflows, unclear pricing, and fragmented liquidity. Our goal is to deliver a fairer and more transparent experience that makes asset discovery simple, shows real-time market momentum, and feels as intuitive as the best apps on your phone.
Vishal Gupta:
According to the press release, the platform is equipped with real-time market sparklines, hosted wallets backed by Turnkey, and smart order routing technology powered by Definitive. With the newly secured funding, plans have been announced by True Markets to incorporate TrueX—its proprietary institutional-grade centralized exchange—aimed at delivering enhanced liquidity within the mobile trading experience.
