A group of Coinbase alumni has secured an $11 million funding round to launch True Markets, a stablecoin-native decentralized finance (DeFi) application designed to offer real-time execution and self-custody capabilities on the Solana blockchain.
True Markets, a newly launched mobile-oriented non-custodial venture founded by former Coinbase executives Vishal Gupta and Patrick McCreary, has secured $11 million in funding to develop its stablecoin-native, mobile-first DeFi application for iPhones. With this latest round, True Markets has raised a total of $20 million and is building its platform on Solana to enable faster and more secure cryptocurrency trading.
A press release shared with Crypto stated that Accomplice and RRE Ventures co-led the funding round, while Reciprocal Ventures, Variant Fund, and PayPal Ventures also contributed support.
Former Coinbase executives Vishal Gupta, the former head of exchange, and Patrick McCreary, a former senior engineering leader, founded True Markets. They designed the platform to enable on-chain token trading through stablecoin settlement within a non-custodial framework. At launch, support is provided for leading Solana-native assets, with future plans aimed at expanding into centralized finance markets.
Retail traders have been stuck with clunky workflows, unclear pricing, and fragmented liquidity. Our goal is to deliver a fairer and more transparent experience that makes asset discovery simple, shows real-time market momentum, and feels as intuitive as the best apps on your phone.
Vishal Gupta:
According to the press release, the platform features real-time market sparklines, hosted wallets backed by Turnkey, and smart order routing technology powered by Definitive. With the newly secured funding, True Markets plans to integrate TrueX—its proprietary institutional-grade centralized exchange—to enhance liquidity within the mobile trading experience.
