X has expanded its U.S. Cashtag system by connecting stock, ETF, and cryptocurrency pages with five external trading platforms, giving users a faster path from financial posts to trade execution.
X introduced its U.S. Cashtag Partner Program with Coinbase, Gemini, Kraken, Interactive Brokers, and Moomoo, allowing users to choose “Trade” after opening a supported ticker such as $BTC or $TSLA. The selected partner’s mobile app or website handles the transaction, rather than X itself.
X Cashtags Now Link Market Posts With Trading Platforms
Under the updated process, users can search for a supported Cashtag or select one directly from a post. X then shows a live price chart and related posts for the asset before listing available trading providers. Users can pick a brokerage or exchange, log into an existing account or open a new one, and complete the transaction on that platform.
The new setup leaves order execution to companies that already run trading platforms. X does not present itself as the party executing transactions through the Cashtag program, while its launch guidance sends users to the selected partner for the final order. Eligibility, account creation, asset access, and trading conditions remain dependent on each provider.
Product Engineering Lead Mridul Singhai said, “Cashtags close the gap between a ticker on the timeline and the market itself.” His remarks outline X’s aim to reduce the steps users take between viewing a financial conversation and accessing a trading platform.
The program builds on the U.S. Cashtag launch with Coinbase, Kraken, and other trading partners, which A previously reported had gone live across five participating platforms while requiring users to complete trades outside X.
Kraken and Interactive Brokers Confirm Participation in Launch
Kraken separately confirmed that it is an official U.S. Cashtag launch partner. When users select Kraken from a supported ticker page, X directs them to Kraken’s app or website, where they can authenticate their account and complete the trade.
Kraken said its integration covers Cashtags for nearly 2,500 assets across its centralized and decentralized exchange services. The figure reflects the assets Kraken supports, rather than indicating that every X Cashtag will route to every asset or trading product for all users. Geographic limits and account eligibility requirements still apply.
Interactive Brokers separately confirmed the integration for U.S. investors. Its platform lets users viewing an asset on X move to the IBKR platform, where they can research the asset or place an order. New eligible U.S. clients who open and fund qualifying accounts through the Cashtag experience can receive a $100 promotional credit under the launch offer.
Moomoo has identified itself as one of X’s first U.S.-regulated brokerage partners. Its integration directs users from supported stock Cashtags to relevant Moomoo pages, where they can access market data, research tools, and trading services.
X named Coinbase and Gemini as the other launch partners in its announcement. The social platform has not released one universal list detailing which assets each provider supports through Cashtags, so available coverage may vary between brokerages and exchanges.
X Built Trading Links Into Its Smart Cashtags Rollout
The brokerage links build on Smart Cashtags, which X started rolling out earlier in 2026. The feature connects ticker symbols and crypto contract addresses with specific asset pages that show real-time charts and related discussions, helping users avoid confusion when multiple tokens share similar names or ticker symbols.
A previously reported on the Smart Cashtags rollout for crypto tickers and contract addresses, which initially centered on identifying specific financial assets and showing related market data directly within X.
An expanded version rolled out to iPhone users in the U.S. and Canada in April. X Head of Product Nikita Bier later said aggregated data from the trading pilot showed the feature had generated an “estimated $1 billion” in global trading volume over several days. X provided the figure, and no independent audit has verified it, leaving the amount as a company estimate.
The April rollout connected Canadian users with Wealthsimple for trading, while the September program adds a dedicated set of U.S. partners. X has not revealed commercial terms, referral fees, or revenue-sharing agreements between the platform and the five U.S. trading firms.
Cashtag Trading Remains Separate From X Money
The Cashtag program operates separately from X Money, the platform’s payments service. A previously reported that the company had started rolling out X Money to selected Premium+ users earlier this year, with features including peer-to-peer payments, a digital wallet, and additional account tools.
The Cashtag Partner Program announcement does not state that users can fund trades on Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, Interactive Brokers, or Moomoo directly through an X Money balance. X’s documented flow directs users from the Cashtag page to their chosen partner, where the provider manages login, onboarding, and trade execution.
The current U.S. rollout supports stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies where available. Interactive Brokers states that its Cashtag integration is now accessible to U.S.-based investors, although product availability can still vary by account type, affiliate, and place of residence.
Kraken’s announcement also frames the partnership as part of its U.S. launch. Users can move from an X Cashtag to Kraken and complete eligible trades through the exchange’s own infrastructure, with access remaining subject to its standard account requirements.
X has not set a date for taking the five-partner program outside the United States or said whether additional brokerages will be added. Kraken said “more to come” while discussing its participation, but neither company offered a timeline or identified any further trading partners.
