16 Crypto Exchanges Have Been Authorized to List Venezuela’s Cryptocurrency Petro

0

According to the local news report from Venezuela, the government of President Nicolas Maduro has authorised 16 different cryptocurrency exchanges that will facilitate and allow cryptocurrency transactions in the international market.

Recently, during the inauguration of Venezuela Power Expo 2018 in Caracas, President Maduro said: “The certification of these 16 exchanges is a demonstration of confidence in the system of the Petro, as a cryptocurrency, and will allow liquidity and solid transactional volume.”

In addition to this, President Nicolas Maduro has also announced the end of pre-sale of Petro and claims to have raised over $3 billion in token sales. Mauro said: “I have to report on the closing of El Petro’s first pre-sale. We closed with an amount of $3,338 million. An economic miracle. Boot The Petro!”

This news soon came after the latest crackdown of remittance business and crypto exchanges dubbed as Operation Paper Hands.

The publication has also detailed the list of all those 16 certified crypto exchanges to be “Criptoexchainge, Criptocapital, Asesoría Financiaera CA, Italcambio, Amberes Coin, Cave Blockchainge, Valoratta Casa de Bolsa, Coinsecure.ve, Critiaechainge, Criptolago, Criptoventraige CA, Criptoactivo Menets CA, Criptoactivo Bancar CA, Criptomundo Casa de Intercambio CA, Inversiones Financieras 1444 CA, [and] Criptoactivo Criptoes.” However, a return confirmation is yet to arrive from these exchanges whether or not they have agreed to list Petro.

Moreover, the report suggests that Indian Crypto exchange Coinsecure can also be authorized by Venezuela. Coinsecure CEO Mohit Kalra said “Venezuela wanted to add Petro as a cryptocurrency on Coinsecure, so they can trade Petro against bitcoin and the rupee.”

The news publication also notes that Venezuela has also offered India a 30% discount on crude oil purchases if the country agrees to use Petro. Kalra said: “The offer that they have given to the Indian government is: you buy Petro and we will give you a 30 percent discount.”

A few weeks back, U.S President Donald Trump had asked his administration to issue a complete ban on buying the Petro cryptocurrency across the U.S in a move to impose more sanctions on the country.
